POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Regional Manager of Technology REPORTS TO: Director of Finance SUPERVISES: n/a UPDATED: November 2014 OVERVIEW: To assist authorized users of The Westin Resort & Spa and One Hospitality in the operation of the I.T. system hardware/Software, various programs and modules. Ensure that preventive maintenance required by any I.T. equipment in the hotel is carried out appropriately. Coordinate the timely repair and return to service of any faulty systems or items of equipment. Establish and implement procedures to ensure the backup of data in any I.T. system. To rebuild/restore data corrupted by either hardware or software faults. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage information technology and computer systems Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP) Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development within the business needs of the existing hotels. This includes One Hospitality Groups standards and policies as well as the franchise standards and policies. Clearly communicate and implement above listed standards to the management team Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Position Description: Regional Manager of Technology Page 1 of 3 Hire and manage information systems contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures Manage the individual brand standards, implementing One Hospitality Groups policies alongside franchise standards. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system Be familiar with all hardware and software that is standardized within One Hospitality Group Optimize and secure network traffic following security and network standards and policies Provide orientation to new users of existing technology Provide and maintain an intranet site to facilitate training and/or first tier assistance Maintain up to date documentation, including but not limited to, all computers, servers, virtual machines as well as tasks whether recurring or user base. Ensure required support agreements are in place and up to date Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance utilizing ticket system Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources based on requirements found within your meetings with managers and/or various standards as outlined Research current and potential resources and services. Bring to the attention of the Director of Technology Install, setup and maintain workstations with current software, configuration and security settings Monitor security of all technology in accordance with our One Hospitality Group’s standards Maintain and test a disaster recovery plan. If faults are found, remediate promptly. Monitor daily backups and anti-virus updates Perform the daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly tasks and document them as required. Work with local management to maintain the Technical Concierge position if possible Train, support and work with the Technical Concierge to ensure they can maintain the level of support required. 24/7 Emergency Support - For emergencies such as power failures, server crashes, network outages etc. Position Description: Regional Manager of Technology Page 2 of 3 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Must be able to build and maintain credibility and relationships with customers (internal and external) Strong organization and planning skills Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint Proven ability in managing time is critical; must be able to plan and execute effectively and efficiently Previous experience in a similar role in a similar size/type of property Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a passion for dealing with and emotionally connecting with others Must be able to work a flexible schedule Knowledge of the Galaxy/LightSpeed Hotel System Previous knowledge of Food and Beverage POS (Squirrel) GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: IT Business/Computer Science Degree or equivalent is preferred Able to lift computers and computer equipment safely Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day Hours must remain flexible based on hotel needs within the constraints of your full time status Position Description: Regional Manager of Technology Page 3 of 3
