Southern Mindanao Colleges Pagadian City GRADUATE SCHOOL Mansanadez, Joyce Grace T. MaEd ED 229 Reflection Paper I The COVID-19 pandemic is severely challenging the Philippines where the most vulnerable are the children, especially girls, and young women and also the older one. Over a year into the pandemic, the Philippine government’s continue to fight against the pandemic, by planning in order to address the crisis, where one of the affected is the education. Philippine schools have paused faceto-face pandemic. classes for over a year due to the COVID-19 Classes have been done via remote learning, modular learning, blending learning, online learning and the distance education strategy were implemented for the whole school year. Now some government officials eyed for limited face to face classes. For me having a limited face to face classes is fine for colleges, but for elementary and secondary I think we do not have the assurance for the safety of the students. Especially that the young one’s are still not yet vaccinated. We must not forget that these students are playful and wanted to be engage in different activities, some also are wants interaction with their classmates by talking and sharing their thoughts, ideas and even with the updates of their personal life and other issues and concern. For me, we cannot avoid this students from doing this. It is really a burden also for the part of the teacher if he/she watch the students the whole day just to make sure that they are following all the health protocols. That is why for me, I will not agree for the limited face to face classes unless they are vaccinated then I think we can start the limited face to face classes.
