FINAL EXAM
MGA ALITUNTUNIN SA KLASE







Explanations for INC, 4.0, FA, DRP, WF, WP
INC
This is given to a student who has not turned in the major requirement for the
end term, but still managed to get a passing grade.
 The student’s tentative grade is INC; however, the actual numerical grade
should be manually recorded on a separate column in the grading sheet so
that if the student does not submit the requirement within two weeks, the
grade of INC will be replaced by that numerical grade.
 If the student completes the requirement on time, the highest grade that the
student will get in the completed requirement is 80 because of late
submission. The professor should enter the expected numerical grade in a
separate column at the same time that the INC grade is turned in.
 The deadline for completion is two weeks after the final exam.
 A grade of INC applies only to non-submission of the major endterm
requirement ( if any). It does not apply to non-submission of assignments.
 Whether or not the student completes the requirement, the professor should
fill in a change of grade form and submit it to the Registrar two weeks after
the final exam.
A processing fee must be paid by the student to change the INC to an actual
numerical grade.
4.0
This is given to a student who has not turned in the major requirement for the
end term and whose final grade is failing, but who could still pass if the major
requirement is submitted within two weeks after the final exam and it merits a
grade that results in a final grade of 3.0
 The professor will give the student an idea of what grade he or she must get
for that requirement to result in a final grade of 3.0.
Messiah College Foundation
ELECTV-5 / SIKOLOHIYANG PILIPINO
 If the student does not turn in the major endterm requirement on time or If the
quality does not meet the minimum grade to be able to pass the course, the
conditional failing grade (4.0) will automatically become a failing grade (5.0).
If submitted on time and the quality meets the minimum grade, the highest
final grade that the student can get is a 3.0

A processing fee must be paid by the student to change the grade from “4.0”
to “3.0.”
FA
This is given to a student who goes over the maximum allowed absences without
officially dropping the subject. The maximum number of allowed absences is 6
times for 1.5-hour classes and 3 times for 3-hour classes. In both cases, the
number of allowed absences is 9 hours. For 2-hour classes, the maximum
allowed absence is 2 times, i.e., 4 hours.
A grade of FA demonstrates a lack of character, like an employee who stops
coming to work without writing an official letter to notify his employer of his
resignation. In order to avoid an FA, the student must fill out a DROP SUBJECT
form and submit it to the Registrar during the official dropping period.
DRP
This is given to a student when he or she, for any reason, drops the course
officially within the dropping period, regardless of his or her grade status at that
time.
 To officially drop a course, the student must fill out a DROP SUBJECT form,
have it signed by the professor, and submit it to the Registrar no later than
Friday of the 9th week of class.
WP
This is given to a student who, for any reason, drops the course officially after
the dropping period is over and whose grade at that time is passing.
 Examples of reasons for withdrawing are: a plan to change major,
prolonged illness, grieving due to death in the family , etc.

WF
To get a grade of WP, the student must fill out a DROP SUBJECT form and
have it signed by the professor, and submit it to the Registrar.
This is given to a student who, for any reason, drops the course officially after
the dropping period is over and his/or her grade at that time is failing.
Examples of reasons for withdrawing may be similar to the above. On the other
hand, a student may withdraw because he feels that he will eventually fail at the
end of the semester and does not want to keep on coming to class.
 To make the withdrawal official, A DROPPING form must be filled out, signed
by the professor, and submitted to the Registrar.
Messiah College Foundation
ELECTV-5 / SIKOLOHIYANG PILIPINO
 This grade shows that the student is mindful of school policies and complies
with school procedures even when consequences are negative; however,
the professor must check to see if the student can still pass with a little
motivation or challenge from the professor himself.


FA – This grade is given to a student who goes beyond the maximum number of allowed
absences unless he or she drops the course during the official dropping period.

DRP – This grade is given to a student who officially withdraws from the course during the
dropping period which ends at 5pm on Friday of the 9th Week of the semester. A DRP
SUBJECT form must be filled up and a fee for dropping must be paid.

WP - This grade is given to a student who officially withdraws from the course after the
dropping period is over and whose grade at that time is passing. A DRP SUBJECT form
must be filled up and a fee for dropping must be paid.

WF - This grade is given to a student who officially drops the course after the dropping
period is over and whose grade at that time is failing. A DRP SUBJECT form must be filled
up and a fee for dropping must be paid.

INC- This grade is given to a student who gets a passing grade in spite of not submitting
the major endterm requirement (INC does not apply to missed assignments).
The deadline for completion of the missed major requirement is the start of the following
semester. When submitted, the highest grade possible for that requirement is 80 due to its
having been submitted late. A fee must be paid to process the change of grade from INC to
a final grade.
Messiah College Foundation
ELECTV-5 / SIKOLOHIYANG PILIPINO

4.0 - This grade is given to a student whose computed grade is failing due to nonsubmission of the major endterm requirement, but who could still pass if the requirement is
submitted and garners a satisfactory grade.
The deadline for completion of the missed major requirement is the start of the following
semester. The highest FINAL GRADE to which a CONDITIONAL FAILURE (4.0) can be
changed is 3.0. A fee must be paid to process the change of grade.


Late submission of Assignments. For an assignment that is one day late, the
highest possible grade is 85; if it is two days late, the highest possible grade is 84; if
three days late,83; if four days late, 82 and if 5 days late, 81 After this, late assignments
will no longer be accepted.
.
Please consult the Student Handbook for other class policies.

explanation both during class time, and also during office hours or by appointment with the
instructor.
3) Assist the instructor in creating a classroom environment most conducive to attaining
course objectives. This includes: being aware of, and complying with the instructor’s
guidelines towards attendance, behavior, grading, and examinations, as outlined in the
syllabus.
4) Complete all assignments and take all the examinations.
5) Follow all school rules and policies regarding Honor Code for assignments, research
