The world is facing the greatest challenge effectuate by novel coronavirus or Coronavirus
disease 2019 (Covid-19) eventually turned into a Pandemic. Wuhan in mainland China declared its first
case last December 2019. The disease is caused by SARS-COV-2, this disease is more severe than
severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). This
caused not only a global health crisis but also a socio-economic crisis. Each day, a person loses his or
her job and income. The tourism industry was the most affected in this pandemic. The schools also
closed and distance learning such as online classes and modules were adapted. Wearing of facemasks,
having a 2-meter physical distance, and frequent washing of hands was also practiced to avoid this
virus. As of this moment, approximately 27 million people around the world were infected by this virus.
This disease can be transmitted by humans as declared by the health officials.
We have all felt the catastrophic aftermath of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Pandemic. We have also adjusted ourselves to live in a world facing the new normal. People embraces
the lifestyle were having in this New Normal. This pandemic changed our daily lifestyle. It teaches us
how to take care of ourselves and also how to realize the value of our life. Our environment has also
changed.
Environment means all-natural surroundings which help life to grow and nurture.
Natural environment plays a great role in the existence of life on earth and it helps human beings,
animals and other living things to grow and develop naturally. In this trial times, the COVID-19
Pandemic let our Environment to rest from the pollution caused by human being. We are in a homebased quarantine for almost 6 months and it helps our environment to rest and to grow. The busy roads
became quiet. No vehicle that yields black smoke that causes pollution. The polluted air turned into a
fresh air. The trees sprang and produced fruit, the flowers grow and become more colourful and
beautiful. A picture of Metro Manila was featured on Facebook. Based on the picture, it was different
from what Metro Manila before. Therefore, this pandemic was helpful to help our Mother Earth to rest.
This Pandemic will end in God’s perfect time. The scientists were working on a possible
vaccine for COVID-19. The vaccine is the key to make the world face the Old Normal. The realization
of how important is our life remains. People will still practice frequent handwash and taking care of
themselves. We expect that in the near future, tons of waste will be produce and approximately 60% of
the waste were used facemasks and the rest were medical waste.
