State of the Week Assignment
Each week, a different student will be asked to share a 5-10 minute
presentation about one of the United States of America. Presentations will be
due on Fridays. See back side of this page for your child’s state and date.
This assignment is intentionally open ended. Students can present in the
form of a:
PowerPoint Presentation
Poster
Traditional Report
Tri-Panel Board
Speech (possibly using index cards and visuals)
Any other type of presentation method
Things to include might be:

Major cities and landforms (both water and land)
Major attractions and recreation activities
History like original native tribes, early settlers, and the
development of the state
State symbols
State flag and history
Date and history of statehood
How state got its name
Economy, resources, and products
Native wildlife species and plants.

Anything else about the state
