Cell Project: Presentations beginning Monday, December 8th You will need to create 3D models, posters, a song, a rap, a poem, or a skit that demonstrates your knowledge of the organelles in plant, animal, and bacteria cells. 3D Models and posters: Construct a model or poster of the plant, animal, AND bacteria cell. All organelles must be present on the models or posters and labeled correctly with ONLY the name of each organelle. You may not use any type of note cards for the presentations. You must be able to identify each organelle and describe its function in the cell. You must also point out the differences between plant, animal, and bacteria cells. This is done as an individual project (not partners). Song or Rap: Write a song or a rap that talks about the plant, animal, AND bacteria cells. All organelles and their functions must be in the lyrics. You must also talk about the differences between the 3 types of cells. The lyrics must make sense. You will provide your teacher with the lyrics written or typed out prior to presenting your project. You will then perform your song or rap for the class (No freestyle). This is done as an individual or a paired project. If you are working with a partner, both partners must have equal performance time demonstrating knowledge of the cell. In other words, both partners must be performing some of the lyrics, not one giving a beat while the other raps/sings. Skit: Write a skit that demonstrates your knowledge about the plant, animal, AND bacteria cells. All organelles and their function must be acted out at some point in the skit. You must also act out the differences between the three cells. You will provide your teacher with a written copy of the skit prior to performance. Your performance must make sense and proceed as a logical story. This may be performed as a group with no more than 3 people. Each person in the skit must perform equal time. Use the following grid to guide your construction of your project. We will cover each organelle in class. You need to keep track if the organelle is found in plants, animals, and/or bacteria cells. Organelle Cell Wall Cell Membrane Nucleus Nucleolus Nuclear Membrane Cytoplasm Ribosome Mitochondria Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum Golgi Apparatus Lysosome Chloroplast Vacuole Plant Animal Bacteria
