Portfolio Guidelines*: Spanish 2

The portfolio is a purposeful, systematic collection of a student’s work. It shows the
student’s efforts, progress, and achievements. The Portfolio in Spanish class will consist
of all work performed during the academic year. It will be compiled in a dedicated
3-ring binder organized chronologically by section dividers into the following sections:
I. Introduction—to include ASSIGNMENT LOG, course syllabus, signed letter to parents, the blueprint
for success, and any other designated item.

Note: The portfolio is a cumulative work intended
as an on-going compilation of all work and
materials from throughout the course. It will be
periodically evaluated both as segments and in its
entirety.
A+ Portfolio meticulously complete
with all materials and work from
throughout the designated grading
period, presented in the prescribed
organized fashion.
A
Portfolio complete with virtually
all materials from throughout the
designated grading period and
essentially organized as prescribed.
B
Portfolio substantially complete.
.An organized attempt at compilation
and completion of most of the assigned

designated grading period. A limited
number of assignments are incomplete

NOTE: These Portfolio guidelines serve as a valid and expected method of organization
of class work and provide for the inclusion of previous work from Spanish 1. Spanish 2
students may only discard Spanish 1 Daily Work/Homework if they so choose. All other
Spanish 1 materials should be retained. Use of the Navegando 2 textbook has, however,
been replaced with LearnSpanish.com and other supplements to provide review,
allow for independent rate of study via electronic media, and assure exposure to all
grammatical elements of the Spanish language. The Navegando 2 textbook is available
to be checked out to any Spanish 2 student interested in having one for use as a reference.
