Braunschweig:

June 2014

At the heart of railway technology

Munich, 04 June 2014 – The engineering service provider Berner &

Mattner, specialized in systems engineering, development, and testing, opens a new branch office in Braunschweig, expanding in particular its

Transportation Division. The expert in railway technology, forming part of the Assystem Group, is now moving closer towards longstanding customers from that region also on a local level. Berner & Mattner further aims to cooperate with local teaching and research institutions.

Customers will, in the future, benefit from a broader service portfolio, including product- and service-related engineering services.

Berner & Mattner has built a reputation as a strong developing partner among manufacturers and operators of railway technology, taking over project responsibilities in the areas safety, software, and testing. Based on profound expertise in the requirements of railway developments, process know-how and methodological competence, the new office in Braunschweig aims to break new grounds. Thorsten Hiebenthal, Head of the Transportation Division at Berner &

Mattner Systemtechnik GmbH explains: “With our new office in Braunschweig we are continuing our tradition of customer proximity. A close customer support is important to us and has always proven successful in the past. In addition, we extend our services to other stages in the life cycle of railway systems. In future, we will be able to offer our customers product- and service-related engineering services. We can draw on experiences from our colleagues from the sister companies of the Assystem Group with their many years of expertise and knowhow in the railway sector."

Substantial expansion

The initial Berner & Mattner team in Braunschweig consists of 6 experts and is supposed to be doubled by the end of the year. Our location manager Maurice

Kormann, a mechanical engineer with over 15 years of experience in the development of rail vehicles, has been with Berner & Mattner for the last two years. "I am glad that we are now able to create more customer proximity on a local level - concerning the intensity of many projects this will be a clear benefit." says Kormann. “To complete our team we are not only looking for recognized experts in the field of railway technology.
