Final Project Assignment:
Due date: Thursday 3/8
Assignment Value: 200 points or 20% of overall course grade.
Assignment details:
In a 500-700 word, typed and double spaced journal entry, students will be asked to
select an example of interpersonal communication from either their daily life or from a
media artifact and apply theories and concepts from the entirety of the course curriculum.
Students may choose to elaborate upon previously chosen journal topics and apply a
more diverse set of concepts to demonstrate a more complete understanding of the course
curriculum.
In addition to this, students will be asked to prepare a three to five minute presentation in
which they will clearly describe their example, and then to explain in detail each of the
concepts addressed in the journal entry, using appropriate visual aids, video clips, or
other artifacts to add to a more complete understanding of the example and course
curriculum.
Students will be asked to identify concepts and themes from each of the three major
sections of the course in their final project. Students need not to describe each individual
chapter, but to pull in pertinent information from appropriate chapters.
