Understand the new Word 2010 form tools and legacy tools for compatibility use. Students learn to create the form, use templates and insert form fields that repeat throughout the document! Participants will create new templates for form use in paper and web formats and learn to protect the form for survey completion. The class trains students in Excel & Word best practices to organize and analyze data for use in presentations, cross-organizational teams and management distribution. Students learn to custom filter, custom sort and use conditional formatting to identify trends in Excel, and introduction to Pivot Tables and one step charts. Additional lab focuses on organizing summary trends into another application, including new Paste Option choices, linking and format options. Wednesday, November 6, 9:00 to 12:00 – New Britain *NEW Class* Microsoft 2010 Access – Converting Excel Sheets into a Database: This is an ideal class for the non IT or non Finance user who is responsible for managing large datasheets, or for the power Excel user needing larger data sources than Excel. This basic Access class focuses on creating an Access database in 2010. Students learn to import existing Excel spreadsheet through the Wizard, map field and identify a primary key. Navigate the Access window and learn the "Datasheet" vs. "Design" views. The course introduces database concepts and table design through the 2010 tabs. Participants learn to create basic queries and reports through the wizards. The class focuses on best practices to enter data and organize in Excel for Access use.
