Biscuit Box Book Report Students will be reading Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World and completing the project by October 18th. Students will need a real, empty cereal box in order to complete this project. Cereal boxes are large and therefore better to complete the assignment than an actually biscuit box. Students will decorate a cereal box with illustrations and information related to the book they read using the directions below. The rubric to grade this project is on the third page. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. Enjoy! FRONT OF BOX: Use a piece of white or light colored paper to cover the front of your cereal box. (You will probably want to create the cover before gluing it on your box.) Include the name of the biscuits and a picture. Invent a name for the biscuits that is related to the title of the book and sounds like a real name. Do not use the exact title of the book. Draw pictures of your biscuits and decide if it will have a specific flavor. RIGHT SIDE: Make a list of ingredients that includes the Characters. Under the heading "Ingredients," list the main characters and one inside trait and one outside for each character. Then write a sentence about each one. You can use white or light colored paper and do it in your own way. Just make sure you include the main characters with inside and outside traits. Example: Harry Potter, courageous, wears glasses LEFT SIDE: Describe the setting, where does the book take place. Use complete sentences. You can use white or light colored paper and do it in your own way. Top BACK OF BOX: Main idea. Write a summary that describes the main problem and the solution of the book. Try to use words that will “grab” the readers’ attention and make them want to buy your cereal. Bottom BACK OF BOX: Design a game that is based on the story. It can be a puzzle, a word search, a word scramble, a maze, a crossword puzzle, a hidden pictures illustration, or any other fun activity. Make sure it includes information from the book. TOP OF BOX: Include the title, author, number of pages, and number of stars you would give this book if you were a book critic. The maximum number of stars would be 5. Inside the BOX: Write the recipe or directions on a card for how to make the biscuits. Put the card inside the box. You may use a family recipe, one from a cookbook, or find one on the Internet. Make sure the recipe is clearly organized so that someone could make it. YOUR BISCUIT BOX BOOK REPORT IS DUE AT SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, October 18th.
