Electronic Database
Use the World Book Online database accessible through the Virtual Reference
Collection (VRC).
**HINT** Use the words “Shang Dynasty,” Zhou Dynasty,” “Qin Dynasty,” or “Han
Dynasty” when searching the World Book Online database.
The VRC can be found on the library computers’ desktops. Click on the “Virtual
Reference” icon or on the “Bookmarks for Samoset Library.” When you have
opened the VRC, select the database you want to use and open it. The user name is
“samoset” and the password is “sam.” To access the Virtual Reference
Collection from any other internet-connected computer you can type the following
URL (web address) in the address line.

World Wide Web Resources
The following web sites are all accessible from the library
computers’ desktops by opening the “Social Studies” folder in the “Bookmarks for
Samoset Library.” Clicking on the title will bring you directly to the web site. You
can also access all the Library Bookmarks from the Library link at the Samoset
Middle School’s web site (http://www.sachem.edu/schools/samoset). You can also
access the site by going to the Internet and typing the URL (web address) in the
address line.
