In recent five years, overcapacity of aluminium in China
is still not tackled. Against such background,
ALUMINIUM CHINA is now in its eighth year and trying
to convey more values for the industry.

Downstream‚ quick steps towards sustainable
econimies
Gulf countries are moving at a rapid pace to strengthen
its industrial infrastructure; many of ideas are formed
into concrete projects. Government awareness of the
need to tackle unemployment among its nationals, drive
these visions towards building the basis for stronger
industrial infrastructure which will provide thousands
of new jobs.
The event was marked by greater participations from
the smelting industry reflecting the development in the
region in this field. As the industry moves towards more
downstream projects, the exhibition will continue to play
a key role in gathering leading companies and technologies.
This upcoming event is introducing two new zones for
fabrication and surface treatment aiming to supplement the region’s fabricators with required technologies
and products.
The aluminum industry among other industries will
positively be affected by these developments. Apart
from direct investments amounting to more than $ 40
billion in primary and downstream projects, the value of
industrial projects and infrastructure that will impact
positively on the aluminum market, reach up to nearly
18.2 trillion dollars. In the field of renewable energy
projects, worth between 2013 and 2018 to $ 39.5
billion, including projects in nuclear energy, solar energy
and waste-to-energy projects. In the area of infrastructure projects amount to the value of the 3.8 trillion and
$ 35 billion in industrial fields. While the value of the
metal industry projects reach to 6.7 trillion of which 42
billion is invested in the aluminum industry.

India‘s leading B2B trade event for the aluminium
eco-system and its application industries, ALUMINIUM
INDIA brings together producers, processors, technology suppliers and consumers along the entire value
chain - i.e. from raw materials through to semi-finished
and finished products.
Now in its fourth edition, ALUMINIUM INDIA aims to
highlight India’s critical role in the global aluminium
industry, by focusing on emerging opportunities in high
growth manufacturing sectors in the South Asian region
including automotive manufacturing, building and construction, telecommunications, IT and hardware.
Development of ALUMINIUM industry in India
Aluminium Production and Consumption in India
India enjoys the eighth position among the leading
producers of primary aluminium in the world. The
country has been witnessing a phenomenal growth in
aluminium production over the past ten years. India
also has the credit of being the fifth largest producer of
aluminium in the world. The country has a capacity to
produce more than 2.7 million tones of aluminium per
year, accounting making up about 5% of the total aluminium production on the globe. India boasts of a massive
quantity of Bauxite reserve of about 3 billion tones.
Of the total volume required by the domestic market,
the power industry makes use of about 44% and the
consumer durables and transportation industries
consume about 10 -12%, while the construction and
packaging sectors buy about 17%.
The Future of Aluminium Industry in India
The per capita consumption of aluminium metal in
developed countries is estimated at about 20 to 30 kg.
In most countries, the bauxite reserve has got almost
depleted. The scenario in India is just the opposite.
While the per capita consumption of the metal is only
1.3 kg, the country has a huge reserve of good quality
bauxite reserve. In addition, several factors including
high GDP growth rate, skilled employees, highly
encouraging Government policy and the favourable
trade relations of the nation with a number of developed
and developing countries will ensure a bright future for
the aluminium industry in the country.
A study of the aluminium industry in India today reveals
that most refineries will be commissioned in the subcontinent around 2020. The scenario existing suggests
that India is the right place following Vietnam where
aluminium industry can hope to see a bright future.

New promotional line for materials
trade fair.
Trade fair promotion working through imagery with
emotional appeal.
Children thrilled with technology are shown as
tomorrow‘s little discoverers projecting their visions
onto their toys – this is the new visual imagery used by
trade fair organiser Reed Exhibitions to promote its two
materials trade fairs ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES
EUROPE. “Visions become reality” is the name of the
new promotional line conceived as a series of emotional
images and aiming at attracting attention in industries
generally relying on technological appeal only.
The visual motifs show children whose toys – cars,
aeroplanes and sky rockets – are supported by design
drawings, thus symbolising visionary ideas for the
materials‘ major areas of application: automotive
construction and aerospace. The campaign was
developed by the Essen agency SK-Kommunikation.
The new motifs will be used in advertisements,
brochures, newsletters and the Internet presentations
of both trade fairs.
“We believe that the visitors at our trade fairs will
recognise themselves in this child. And we hope that
with this campaign we will succeed in encouraging
researchers and developers to discover and advance
the opportunities inherent in aluminium and composites
in today’s reality”, says Markus Jessberger, the responsible Event Director for both fairs.
ALUMINIUM and COMPOSITES EUROPE will take place
concurrently from 9 to 11 October at Messe Düsseldorf. The organisers expect more than 1,300 exhibitors who will present the entire process chain of the
two lightweight construction materials aluminium and
composites, e.g. CRP and GRP.
