Trip
Description
The
History of Ice Cream
Ice Cream
Around the World
The Next Great Flavor
Experiment
Little Scoops
Preschool Field Trip
In a fun and exciting
journey through time,
participants help bring the
history of America’s
favorite frozen dessert to
life. Through the use of
props, costumes and
interactive storytelling,
they’ll learn about ordinary
people who made
extraordinary
contributions to ice cream’s
rich and flavorful past.
Equipped with only a
compass and map, teams will
follow clues on a quest to
solve the case of the
sabotaged lab specimens. The
adventure begins with a
virtual race around the world
to correctly identify the
countries of origin for 9
frozen desserts. Teams will
compete to be the first to
accurately complete their
passport!
Even “little scoops” can
enjoy a field trip
customized just for
them. Appropriate for
children ages 3-5, this
trip specializes in
keeping eager minds
engaged and little
fingers busy.
Then, using inventor
Nancy Johnson’s
technique, teams will put
the The Ice Lab’s Batch
Maker to the test when
they conduct their own
science experiments to see
who can create the best
tasting ice cream. Will
hand-made or batch-made
be the victor? Join us to
find out!
Applying what they’ve
learned, competitors must
then rely on their keen senses
of sight, smell and taste to
evaluate and correctly classify
six tasty specimens. This fun
and challenging field trip
transports the ice cream
flavors of the world directly to
their taste buds.
Work behind the scenes with
The Ice Cream Lab’s master
flavor creator, Doc Scoopendorf
as he invites your group to
assist with The Next Great
Flavor Experiment. Before they
become “qualified flavorators”
however, Doc presents three
challenges: teams must
identify America’s most
popular flavors, determine how
different ingredients can
change a flavor, and decide on
the most nutritional
ingredients.
Should the teams be successful,
they will then need to work
collaboratively to create and
present The Next Great Flavor,
which a panel of select judges
will evaluate. Flavor Master
Extraordinaires will have their
winning flavors posted on our
Facebook page.
Gross motor skills are
highlighted as we play
an Ice Cream Scoop
Relay game, and then
it’s time for some fun
Preschool Math and
Science as we measure
and mix ingredients to
make our own ice cream.
Children will enjoy
crafting a Soda Fountain
hat just like the one
Curious George wears in
the story they hear.

If your group is arriving by bus, please notify your driver that bus parking is available directly in front of the
Lehigh Plaza strip mall, in the spaces parallel to the wooden shrubbery planters, along Route 145. These
spaces were designed so buses can easily enter and exit off of Rt. 145 without entering the parking lot.
LARGE BUSES SHOULD NOT ENTER THE PARKING LOT AS SUFFICIENT ROOM FOR
TURNING AROUND IS NOT AVAILABLE. Our staff will be happy to assist with the unloading of
students and teachers to ensure their safety when crossing the parking lot to the Ice Cream Lab entrance.
REMINDERS
All participants are required to sign a Release of Liability which will be sent with your event confirmation.
A final headcount is required the day before your event; please advise us of any known food allergies at that time.
Although the lab area is peanut-free, there are peanut products within our retail environment. If a participant has a severe peanut
allergy, they will be escorted directly into the lab. Please inform us of any other allergy concerns you may have, as most can be
accommodated quite easily.
Children under the age of 5 and all non-participating parents are invited to remain in the observation area during field trips.
One payment for large groups is required unless arranged otherwise.
Guests are invited to shop our souvenir display at the conclusion of the trip.
