H i s l e t t e r s contain e x c e l l e n t d e s c r i p t i o n s of h i s o r i g i n a l journey
west and l i f e i n Iowa. The c o l l e c t i o n a l s o i n c l u d e s a p h o t o s t a t
copy of t h e family t r e e of t h e descendants o f Madam Mary F e r r e e , a
French Huguenot, of whom M r . F e r r e e was descended, and a copy of an
a r t i c l e published i n t h e Annals -of Iowa t i t l e d -An E a r l y S e t t l e r in
