Course Title: Rizal’s Life, Works & Writings Pre-Requisite: III. Course Description: This is the study of the foremost hero of the Philippines, his works & writings, especially the Noli & Fili, which portray the social cancer of his time. This course is divided into four parts: the formative years (1861-1882), his travels abroad (1882-1892), his exile and death (1892-1896), and his other writings found in the appendices. IV. Course Objectives: At end of the course, the student should be able to: Cognitive (Knowledge): 1.Acquaint the students with the hero’s study habits and development. 2. Enable them to evaluate the hero’s virtues and strong personality & character. Affective (Attitude): 1. Instill in the student’s mind his patriotism, sacrifices and martyrdom 2.
