Where you can go for help: • The Student Success Centre offers a number of learning skills workshops throughout the term. • Your Academic Advisors can meet with you to discuss academic struggles and make suggestions for new strategies. (by appointment only, no drop-in for this type of help) • The Writing Centre offers Writing Help and Math Help. • For those who live in residence, the Academic Dons can help too! Page 4 Student Spectrum Returning for September 2016? Then you must complete the Intent To Register (ITR) process by March 31st in order to reserve your time for online course registration in summer. What is Intent to Register? ITR is a simple online process that takes about 10 minutes to complete. ITR lets us know you are coming back in September 2016 for another year. Why is it important? ITR unlocks the online course registration process. You MUST complete ITR to be given a time to use Student Centre to register for courses in June and July. Failure to complete the Intent to Register process means you will not get to register in courses until everyone else has picked their courses. This could mean not getting the courses you want. Step 1: Look at the Degree Checklists to see what courses are needed. Step 2: Print your “Web Academic Report” off of Student Centre to see what courses you have already completed from your degree checklist. Step 3: Obtain any Special Permissions you may need. Step 4: Attend a “Getting Ready for Intent to Register” workshop or make an academic advising appointment for help. How do I complete ITR? There is how-to guide online. Student Support Services will be running hands-on “Getting Ready for Intent to Register” workshops in Jan & February. Look for the dates on the Student Success Calendar emailed to you monthly as well as published on the advising site at www.huronuc.ca/advising. Is this your final term?
