Animal Farm Character Analysis
Basic Story: This book is based on the Russian Revolution.
Mr. Jones, who was farmer, had this big farm called Manor
farm. In this farm, there are variety of animals. However,
animals were not happy at all. Mr. Jones didnʼt provide food
to the animals. The animals were finally mad. The major
(pig) convinced the animals to go against Mr. Jones. They
kicked out Mr. Jones family and the farm was theirs. Then,
animals started to act like human.
Motto of Animal Farm
The Major: The head of animal farm. Started the resistance against Mr. Jones. Persuaded the
other animals by saying what Mr. Jones did wrong and how they are going to change it. Gave the
song, Beast of England.
Snowball: After the major died, the first leader of the animal farm. Most effective worker and best
governor in animal farm. However, tragically, his reputation changes by Napoleon, the second
leader. He was banished from the animal farm
Napoleon: The second leader of the animal farm. Kicked Snowball and became the leader. He
preferred dictatorship and tyranny. Forcing other animals to work harder. If there were problems,
he said that it was Snowball. When time goes on, he was changing to human.
Squealer: The third leader of the animal farm. After Snow Ball was banished, he was on
Napoleon’s side. He was flattering Napoleon by saying to the animals that Napoleon is always
right. When Napoleon got weak and start to lose his power, Squealer received his power.
Boxer: Horse, which works hardest in the farm. Fought hard when humans tried get back the farm.
When he broke the rule that Napoleon made, he went to butchery.
Clover: Horse, which wished the animal farm help together and improve everyday. However, her
wish didn’t become true.
Benjamin: The old and wise donkey. Gave some advises to other animals.
Mollie: White mare.Foolish and dumb. She missed the humans and her sugar cubes.Finally, she
left the animal farm.
