Short Story Essay
Have you ever read a short story that was very descriptive, like a novel? “The
Jade Peony” is a very interesting short story if someone reads it. Wayson Choy is a very
good writer, no matter what story it is. “The Jade Peony” is a fiction story although it
seems like it could really happen in reality.
Literary elements are a major part of a story. It could be a conflict or it could be
the falling action, it does not matter. The conflict is that Sek- Lungs grandma dies and
after he expresses that, during the falling action, Sek- Lung tells about what his grandma
used to do traditionally.
So, as you can see, The Jade Peony is a very interesting story. There is a major
conflict, which is the grandma dies. It is a very traditional story that will get your interest.
If you read this, you will be hypnotized by it.
