European Excursion
PowerPoint Presentation
For this project, your group will work together to produce a PowerPoint presentation that you will perform in
front of the rest of the class. All of the group members must contribute to the creation of the PowerPoint slides
and the presentation to the rest of the class. The steps for this project are outlined below.
1) Your group first needs to pick a name. I will circulate and then record your names to ensure that we do
not have any duplicate names.
2) Your group should then assign roles to group members.
a. PowerPoint Editor - One person should be in charge of doing finishing touches on the
PowerPoint presentation to make sure that it flows from one person’s slides to the next – even
though you are each responsible for creating your own slides, it should be uniform from one
slide to the next to ensure it looks like it all came from the same person.
b. Leader/Mediator – This person will ensure that all group members agree with the layout of the
PowerPoint, the order in which people will present and the look of the presentation.
c. Time Keeper/Organizer – This individual will need to make sure that you are completing all of
your tasks within the time allowed, will check with the teacher if you are concerned that your
group is falling behind, and will organize all of the work completed by each person to turn in at
once.
d. Researcher/Assistant – If someone in the group is having trouble locating the necessary
graphics or information, this person will assist them in finding what they need.
3) Each group PowerPoint presentation must contain the following elements:
a. One title slide that states:
i. Group Name
ii. Group Members Name
iii. Date and Class Period
b. One slides for each topic area that a group member researched. Each of these slides must
contain:
i. Name of the Country at the top
ii. No less than four bullet points/no more than six
iii. A picture, image or graphic
c. One slide that presents “compelling” information related to your assigned country. This slide
must include:
i. A title stating “Important” or “Interesting Facts” or something similar at the top
ii. No less than four bullet points/no more than six (at least one for each subject area
researched)
iii. A picture, image or graphic
d. One slide that states main the reason the class should select your country. Included in this
should be:
i. A title stating “Final Note” or “Closing Note” or something similar at the top
ii. A picture, image or graphic
e. A conclusion slide that can be constructed in any manner your group wants – but this must
contain some type of text and some type of graphic.

4) Each group member will be responsible for creating the slides for their own country, as wells as finding
appropriate images to accompany their slides (see instructions below).
5) Each group member will be responsible for presenting their slides to the rest of the class for the
presentation. If for some reason you are absent the day of the presentation, you will be required to do
your portion of the presentation the next day you are in school.
6) This project will last for MMM number of days. You need to have your final PowerPoint assembled and
completed by May ??, 2005 for my review. As such, the following dates will apply to this project:
