TIME + AIR DANCE: VIRTUAL REALITY AND INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA In the Peroni area (hall C7) hosting the
International Scenography Meetings, virtual reality and interactive multimedia are combined in the extraordinary
installations by LIMEart, a creative group specializing in live interactive media. R # 5: TIME + AIR DANCE investigates
the relationship between advanced technology for interaction and dance, by means of three different
installations on high-impact maxi screens. In TIME 1, three cameras cover the observer/actor/dancer from different
viewpoints which, thanks to processing by specific software, project the “sum” of the different views on the screen. TIME
2 proposes not only different viewpoints but also different times: the coverage shows the movement of the
observer/actor/dancer in real-time, after one or two seconds and after a few more seconds, but the relative images are
projected simultaneously. AIR on the other hand, is an installation based on motion-capture technology. The camera
shoots the performer, but the special software only recognizes the movement, leading to the creation of a sort of dense
homogeneous coloured air that only thins out in the area in which the action takes place and, according to the
movement, allows parts or all of the performer’s body to appear. Like all LIMEart projects, R # 5: TIME + AIR DANCE is
an “open” installation, at the disposal of performers, dancers, athletes and whoever during SIB wants to try to be the star
of these fascinating large images. R # 5: TIME + AIR DANCE is directed by Ezio Cuoghi, director of the Institute of New
Art Technologies and lecturer in Multimedia Direction at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera (Milan). The scenography is
by Daniele Paolin, installation direction by Carlo Ansaloni and technical design by Daniele Suffritti. Music by Marco
Giommoni. Interface development by Luca Orlandi and IT research by Riccardo Gherardi.
STAGE COSTUMES BY PRESTIGIOUS COSTUME MAKERS TIRELLI The area hosting the International meetings on
new frontiers in contemporary production design in Hall C7 will be embellished by an exhibition of costumes made by the
legendary theatre and cinema costume makers Tirelli Costumi. They are some of the most beautiful costume designed
by Hugo De Ana for the operas he directed. Tirelli costume makers was founded in 1964, and was responsible for
making the costumes for extremely famous films and shows, including those of almost all the films by Luchino Visconti. It
worked on making the costumes for "Casanova" by Fellini, "Chariots of fire", "Amadeus", "Cyrano de Bergerac", "The
age of innocence", "The English patient", "Titanic", "Elisabetta", “The legend of the pianist on the ocean”, “Moulin
Rouge”, “Cold Mountain”, “Charlie and the chocolate factory”.
