B. Dismissal for Drug Use

Giving medications to patient

Failure to inform Instructor/director of use of prescribed medications that could alter student’s behavior.

C. General Grounds:

Failure to maintain a final grade of 75% in theory and a Passing in clinical.

Unsatisfactory Attendance.

Failure to meet course requirement in each class.

Cheating or allowing another student to copy an exam answer during a test.

Exhibiting anger in rage or curse words or gestures, or disrespectful behavior while a Mary Seacole student.

D. Violation of any of the rules and regulations or violating the California Codes.

12. Reporting Abuse, Incidents and Unusual Occurrences

Students and instructors are to report any incident or unusual occurrences they may observe at the clinical site. If the student is the observer, the initial report is made to the Clinical Instructor, who will then report to the Charge Nurse, who will contact the Director of Nursing and /or the Administrator.

All reported occurrences will be followed up by the facility immediately, in accordance to established facility policies and in accordance to State and Federal Regulations.

The Student is a mandated Reporter, as designated by the California Department of Justice and the California Attorney

General.

Training on mandated reporting will be provided to all students and employees of Mary Seacole Nursing.

13. Instructor Evaluation

Instructors will be evaluated both in the classroom and clinical setting on a regular Annual basis. Evaluations will also be conducted when deemed necessary to improve instructional objectives, performance review of instructors, and compliance of student’s academic and clinical requisites due to introduction of new mandates relating to healthcare laws and policies

Emergency Contact Information

The student is responsible for updating their emergency contact information on their files, should their initial contact information change. The school will endeavor to make sure all students have current emergency contact information and notify their contacts in case of health and safety emergencies that occur where the students are affected or removed due to injuries or evacuation during any health and safety emergencies or natural calamities.

15. Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF)

The Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) was established by legislature to protect any California resident who attends a private postsecondary institution from losing money if they prepaid tuition and suffered a financial loss as a result of the school closing, failing to live to its enrollment agreement, or refusing to pay a court judgment. To be eligible, a student must be a California resident and reside in California at the time the enrollment agreement was signed or when the student received lessons at a California mailing address from an approved private school. Those who hold student visas are not considered California residents. To qualify for the STRF reimbursement, students must file an STRF application within
