Straight after fireworks

Scrutineering from 12md Saturday onwards in northwestern corner of showground

THE SPECIFICATIONS.

ALL VEHICLES MUST BE IN STANDARD CONDITION EXCEPT FOR

MODIFICATONS ALLOWED AS STATED WITHIN THESE

SPECIFICATIONS:

1.

No full chassis or V8 vehicles or 4WD vehicles allowed.

2.

a. All external chrome work and protruding objects must be removed (including all cast metals that hold blinker lights, etc.) b. c. d.

All Glass must be removed - NOT broken in.

All cars to be cleaned out (no loose objects)

All interior linings and handles must be removed.

3. a. All doors must be secured by chains (no wire) and door lock mechanisms only.

b. The Driver's door and off-side passenger's door (the door beside the driver) are to be stick-welded with 8" (150mm) stick welds.

c. No bolting , welting or strengthening of any bonnet, boot lid, mudguard, bumper bar or seam.

d. Mudguards and wheel arches are NOT to be cut in any way or bent.

e. Tow bars are NO LONGER ALLOWED.

4. a. NO ENGINE MODIFICATIONS allowed.

b. Engine and gearbox mounts may be welded but original rubber engine mounts must be retained. If cutting a hole for a floor shift it is not to be any longer than 8" x 8" (200 x 200mm)

BATTERY may be relocated to passenger's front floor, covered with a rubber matting and securely fastened to the floor with metal strips.

a. RADIATORS must of original type and in original position. b. Fan blades may be removed.

c. No additional header tanks, radiators or top-up bottles.

7. a. FUEL TANKS. Original tank not to be used. Alternative tank must be of professional construction, a steel 5-litre container may be secured to the middle of the rear fire wall in a safety cradle.

b. No plastic bottles permitted.

c. If original tank NOT used it is to be drained and a large hole punched in the bottom.

8. a. DRIVER'S SEAT must be reinforced by a steel bar fastened to roof and floor behind the seat to allow head rest to be fitted, b. No barwork permitted.

9. a. APPROVED SEAT BELTS must be fitted to the vehicle ie..

Lap sash or four point harness, b. No other types of seat belts are acceptable.

10. a. Car Numbers must be in large lettering on both sides of the vehicle. Ideally both rear doors.

b. The driver's door must be painted red with a large white cross.

Any driver's door not painted the specified colours, will be fined.

c. All sign writing will be inspected, any sign writing deemed to be in bad taste by the officials must be removed.

d. All vehicles to have effective muffler fitted.

Driver's name to be displayed RH & LHS of rook.

The event is limited to 30 vehicles.

Each driver MUST have a current Drivers' Licence.

11.

All vehicles must be fitted with a white or red flag, no smaller than

30mm x 300 mm attached to a piece of 1/4" (6mm) wooden dowel

12.

Any foam cushioning must be fully covered. No rope to be used in

Car.

If any of the specifications are not abided by, the organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any driver(s).
