What is the weather like this time of year where I am going?
Does the temperature vary much where I will be staying?
How long will I be staying?
Where and under what conditions will I be staying (camping, hotels,
etc.)?
How much money to I take?
How much is the American dollar worth in that location?
How many bags can I take on the airplane?
What will I have when I get there…i.e. iron, washing machine, etc)?
Mississippi
If you are traveling to Mississippi, knowing what the to expect from the
weather is great. Mississippi has a temperate climate with temperatures
fluctuating across the state from the low teens in the winter to the high 90’s
or 100’s during the summer. Rain is likely during most of the seasons with
possibilities of strong storms at times, but some periods of drought occur
during the summer. Mississippi is mostly flat with lots of opportunities for
water activities as well as sports. The most important things to pack when
coming to Mississippi are multiple types of shoes for all weather and a
raincoat. Mississippi is also distinctively known for the great amount of
humidity in the air.
Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the states in the U.S. that experiences a tropical climate
dominated by the ocean. Temperatures in Hawaii only vary by around 10
degrees no matter where you are, but rain amounts can vary quiet a bit. The
terrain has coastal scenes with lots of opportunities for hiking and site seeing
along volcanoes. Dress here is very casual, and the most important thing to
pack is sunscreen and a bathing suit. The air in Hawaii is also humid, but
the feel to it is vastly different than experienced in a more temperate climate
like Mississippi.
Germany
Germany experiences a mostly temperate and marine climate with cool,
cloudy, wet winters and summers. From May to September, temperatures
vary between the forties to the upper sixties and lower seventies. The
winters can be snowy with relatively cooler temperatures. The rain amounts
for Germany are not great, but they get about the same average for each
month. Important things to pack when coming to Germany are warmer
clothes such as jackets and layer type clothes.
Netherlands
The Netherlands and Germany are bordering countries, so the same advice
and information for Germany applies to the Netherlands. Germany actually
averages a little more rain than the Netherlands, so traveling in the
Netherlands might be a little better. The Netherlands has some similarity to
Mississippi in that the whole country is relatively flat. Due to this, the
whole country is protected by a series of levees and storm surge blockades to
keep it from flooding.
