Checklist for planned downtime 4/8 12a-5a Prior to 12 am 1. Take off all orders. Transfer and post op sessions must be activated and taken off prior to the shutdown in order for them to be seen on the failsafe system. 2. Administer and document all medications in eMAR prior to shut down 3. Print fail-safe sheets after all medications have been administered and documented in eMAR. When accessing failsafe computer remember to use the user name ‘failsafe” and the password “failsafe” and change the domain to “this computer” NOT Partners. 12am-5am 1. All Omni cells will be on override 2. If Physician needs to write orders during the downtime they must be written on paper order sheets. To obtain the medications one copy of the order sheet needs to be pulled and sent to the pharmacy via the pneumatic tube system. Medications will be prepared and sent back to the unit via the pneumatic tube system if they are not in the Omnicell. 3. Administer and document medications on the paper MAR 4. During the downtime admitting will not be able to print bar coded patient bracelets. Addressograph bracelets will be used during this time and when the system returns admitting will send the bar coded bracelets to the pod. After 5am 1. File all of the failsafe paper MAR’s in the patient’s chart. 2. Any orders that were written on paper need to be entered into OE to get on the eMAR 3. When eMAR comes back up document the Over due Administrations that were recorded on the paper MAR using the “On Paper” routine in eMAR.
