Frequently Asked Questions Who is required to attend New Employee Orientation? The Joint Commission Standard HR.01.04.01 requires that the SFGH provide orientation to staff. Staff is defined as clinical and non-clinical personnel working on the SFGH campus. This includes those hired through CCSF and UCSF, along with non-clinical student interns. What happens if a new employee is unable to attend the scheduled orientation date? At the time of HR processing, the new employee is scheduled an orientation date and provided with a confirmation letter. If the new employee notifies HR that they cannot attend the scheduled orientation date during appointment processing, HR will reschedule orientation and adjust their start date.
