Cooking with Kids
We’re cooking up fun this week, including a field trip to our local Trader Joe’s market to buy
ingredients for our recipes. Before we hit the kitchen, we’ll be making our own chef hats,
aprons and pot holders. At week’s end, take home your very own recipe book!
Soccer Tots
We are excited to continue our partnership with SF Tots this summer! We are teaming up to
offer daily Soccer Tot sessions to our preschoolers in June and August. Children will
participate in 50-minute soccer sessions daily, and spend the rest of their day at Lakeside

Garden to Table
Children will be planting and tending to a new herb garden for the school.
They will also be learning how to cook simple dishes with the herbs –
allowing them to see how ingredients go from garden to table. Summer
campers will build vocabulary and apply basic math and science
fundamentals such as measuring and becoming familiar with plant, insect,
and water cycles. This is a 2-week camp.

Dancing with the Lakeside Stars
This week we’ll explore the different dance
styles and music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and
90’s. Get your feet ready to move!
The Art of Eric Carle
The colorful illustrations of Eric Carle come
to life this week. As we read books such as
The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear,
Brown Bear, What Do You See?, we will take a
closer look at his technique and create our
own inspired characters.
The Art of Dale Chihuly
Learn to ‘blow glass’ this week like famed
artist Dale Chihuly. Using household
materials and paints, we’ll make our own
whimsical ‘glass’ sculptures.
A Literary Jaunt Around the World
Children love stories. They have stories of their own to tell and learn so much
by hearing them. This 2-week camp will take them to different continents to
learn about cultures through the stories that they tell. We will celebrate
stories by encouraging children to create and dramatize their own. Children
will have their stories transcribed as well as act them out.

Kindergarten Bootcamp
Ready for Kindergarten? Kindergarten is a brand new world for graduating
preschoolers. There is much to maneuver - a new facility, new friends and a
new schedule. Make sure that they know their letters and numbers by
sending them to our Kinder Bootcamp just before the new school year begins.
Students will review phonetics, phonetic spelling, high frequency words,
listening and following directions, number recognition and number sense.
