The student council planned a fun-filled week for Homecoming. For spirit week, the high school students donned their favorite sports team shirts on Monday, dressed patriotic for America day, dressed in camo on Wednesday, wore all black for black-out day, and wore their best red and white for extreme red and white day. Each class received points for the percentage of students dressing up in their grade. Seniors won extreme red and white day, but the sophomores dominated the rest of the days. On Wednesday, the students competed in an outside games night. There was an egg toss, a game of ninja, car push, tug-of-war, find the mascot, link tag, and the infamous powder puff football game which was won by the sophomores and juniors this year. The students voted for their favorite teacher to do the ice bucket challenge during the outside games. The lucky teacher was Mrs. Weaver. On Friday the students competed in games during our pep assembly. The juniors won the cookie face, the seniors won the blanket toss, freshmen won the Miss Magi competition, and the sophomores won the cheer competition. The students decorated floats based on the video games theme. The freshmen chose Infinity, the sophomores chose Minecraft, the juniors chose Mario Brothers, and the seniors chose Pac Man. The float standings are juniors in 4th place, sophomores in 3rd place, seniors in 2nd, and the freshmen won the float building competition. The week’s results for spirit week found the juniors in 4th place with 78 points, the freshmen in 3rd with 101 points, the sophomores in 2nd with 108 points, and the seniors won with 109 points. During the Homecoming game the court was introduced and the royalty crowned. For the freshmen, Jhenna Puckett was escorted by Joshua Allerding.
