Math-r-Rama
Speech and Debate League
Although both Math-r-Rama and Speech/Debate are free programs, I do ask that children who
participate attend each weekly practice session. It is unfair to students who show up and work hard
every week to have to compete with students who are not putting forth their best effort. Please circle
the activity your child will be attending as you fill out the permission slip below.
Math-r-Rama
 Focuses on 4-6th grade students, though
younger students may join based on
interest.
 Practice practical math skills and prepare
for competitions
 Learn to calculate bottle deposit and sales
tax
 Expand existing math skills, and brush up
on areas of weakness
 Practice memorization of addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division
facts
 Attend competitions (during the school
day, 3-4 a year).
 Practice held after school in Mrs. Provo’s
room. Start date to be announced.
 Free program
Speech and Debate
 Focuses students in grades 4-8, younger
students may join.
 Perform individual acts (poetry reading
etc.)
 Learn skills to perform improv acts
 Learn debate terminology and structure
 Learn to form research based logical
arguments
 Attend competitions on Saturdays held in
Ann Arbor and Lansing area schools (3-4 a
year)
 Practice held after school in Mrs. Provo’s
room. Start date to be announced.
