Breaking the connection with history, that is, with the space of human affairs, Robert Pan’s big resin paintings attempt to submerge themselves in time. The metals, hues and constellations emerging from the way he works with his pieces in layers dilate time and leave plenty of room for sublimation. Robert Pan (Bolzano, 1969) Pan’s works are the product of a long process of overlapping of countless layers of resin. He seeks particular hues through physical and chemical processes of corrosion with acids, application of copper plating, oxidation of iron and more. Resin, a material Pan has been working with for many years, serves his vocation of ennobling his gestures and presence in search of vibrant force. Robert Pan’s work has met with national and international consensus and has been included in public and private collections since 1991. Major exhibitions include: RobertPan – 90.er, Kunstgalerie Volksbank, Merano 1998; Licht Skulpturen, Steghof, Naturns 1999; Substanz, Engelsburg, Novacella 2000; Spiegelbilder, Galleria L’Isola, Trento 2001; Akasha, Galleria Goethe, Bolzano 2004; Zenith, Marcorossi Spirale Arte, Verona 2008 (solo show); Constellation, Museion – Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bolzano 2010 (solo show); Trame Riflesse, Palazzo dei Mercanti, Venice 2011; Quasar, Marcorossi artecontemporanea, Verona and Pietrasanta; Castello Moos-Schulthaus, Appiano 2012; Biennale Italia-Cina, Monza 2012; Murano-Merano, Kunst Meran 2013.
