THE LIES OF LUST John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God loves everyone, including homosexuals…in the closet or open. WHERE AND WHEN DOES IT START? Physiology: Your body was created at birth to respond any touch: A finger, no matter who’s hand it is attached to (even your own), a tongue, no matter if it is the tongue of a person or dog, etc… Sexual Molestation: Child gets molested but is confused as to why their body is responding to the fact that it feels good, especially when it’s same sex. Because most were too young to know the biology of the human body, they will falsely associate sexual pleasure, to the sex they first experienced the pleasure with. Sexual Molestation: (continued) If it was heterosexual - The female may cringe the thought of a male body part touching her because it triggers the trauma. She now prefers and only feels safe with encounters with a woman. Childhood Curiosity: This is one of the stages of childhood to begin discovering their own genitals (usually 3-5 yrs old). Boys especially learn the soothing comfort of caressing their genitals at night when they go to bed. (Parents usually teach them to stop.) Childhood Curiosity: (continued) They often get involved in curious play to discover their genital areas (they play doctor, house, act out things they have seen on TV, etc). This can lead to touching each others, which in turn causes the natural response of pleasure due to touch. Childhood Curiosity: REMEMBER! Most children don’t process that as guilt or sexual confusion… Childhood Curiosity: *DANGER*: When a child is playing with a child who has been sexually abused, the play can be goal oriented. The goal is to perform to the level that was performed on them that brought about the good feelings. NOW, People are defining these kids as homosexual as early as in grade school… Images: If you look at pornography and your body responds to same sex acts, you can have the same guilt, shame, and confusion previously mentioned. Genetic Makeup: Sometimes a person has physical issues (hormones/testosterone levels) that cause them to feel like they are a man in a woman’s body, or a woman in a man’s body. (I.e. Male with wide hips or breasts, or a female with a naturally excessive muscular build with a lack of breasts or hips, etc.) Medical attention or supernatural healing plus education is required. Emotional Anatomy: Because we are built for love and relationships, if you have been constantly rejected by the same sex because of your physical appearance and someone from the same sex comes along and accepts you, hits on you, and wants you desperately.. if your mind is not renewed, you will have temptation simply because of desiring to be loved. Emotional Anatomy: >> Others lusting after you can never fill a void meant to be filled with love. “Lust is always the counterfeit of love, and will look to go everywhere that love was originally meant to be.” Where is the church?? When the church further rejects the person in the name of God, they hate and rebel against the God who both let that happen to them, and who they are being told hates them. Definition of Homosexuality Sexual desire, or behavior directed toward a person of the same sex. *note – “Homosexuality” is not found in the 1828 Webster’s dictionary Genesis 1:2628 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:2628 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” God gave us ALL reproductive organs, male and female. It was intended for us to reproduce with those organs We are not ASEXUAL! So what is considered natural to God is heterosexuality. What is the way unbelievers view the church when it comes to this topic? SAD SAD SAD!!! – This person is sinning while talking about God and referencing sin. What is the sign looked more like this… GOD HATES LIARS GOD HATES THIEVES GOD HATES IDOLATERS 1 John 4:8 How Does Society View Homosexuality? What’s the truth? This homosexual push started in your generation… It went from questioning it, to understanding it, to accepting it…. “I kissed a girl, and liked it”, now to empowering it. This message is not to condemn homosexuals… it is to free them. But not to free them TO sin, but to free them FROM sin. ROAMNS 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,[a] and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. How does God see sin?… He does NOT see sin in categories, like hurricanes (1-5). Psalms 5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. Sin separates us from God. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. How should we see sin? Romans 6:1-2,12 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 12 Don not let sin control the way you live, do not give into sinful desires. What does God say about homosexuality? In Leveticus 18:22, 20:13 – Calls sexual behavior within same sex an abomination – we can call it sin. What does God say about homosexuality? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NLT) 9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,.. What does God say about homosexuality? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NLT) 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Romans 5:8 (NLT) But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 8:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 8:1-11 (NLT) 1 Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, 2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. John 8:1-11 (NLT) 3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. 4 “Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. John 8:1-11 (NLT) 5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” 6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. John 8:1-11 (NLT) 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. 9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. John 8:1-11 (NLT) 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” Jesus refused to let his voice join theirs. By telling her “go and sin no more”, he affirmed that sin is not her deepest identity. It’s not how he saw her. It’s not who she was at the core of the being. What is Homosexuality? IT’S LUST. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Romans 1:24-26 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. How can some say, “I was born like this”?... We you were born into sin (the curse) and you had a sinful nature, so that might be true. But that’s not how you were originally made. You can get reborn, or “born again” then get God’s new nature within you. 2 Cor. 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. It’s that righteousness nature that puts you in right standing with God > God doesn’t see you guilty, he see you clean > He has for given you, period. > He has forgiven you of what you have done and even sins that you are going to do…and when we repent, we receive that forgiveness When you start to truly get a revelation of God’s nature in you (righteousness), you want to do right because your nature is to do right. Just because God has given you grace...it doesn’t make you want to sin more… it makes you want to sin less. “How come I got saved, but I still feel like I have these homosexual urges and struggles.” When you get saved you receive a new nature, and the holy spirit power which gives you the power to defeat temptation (Jesus in Matt. 4) But you have the flesh, carnal nature, that still wants its way Romans 7:18-20 18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
