What is an electrode
Welding electrodes are lengths of wire that are connected with your welding machine to create an electric arc.
Current passes through this wire to produce an arc, which generates a lot of heat to melt and fuse metal for
welding.
The main types are:
•Consumable : meaning they become part of the weld and are also referred to as a filler electrode or welding rod.
•Non-consumable : as they do not melt and become part of the weld, requiring the use of a welding rod.
