Essay: Iran–America Conflict
The conflict between Iran and the United States is one of the most important and long-lasting
political tensions in the world. It is not a sudden issue but the result of many years of mistrust,
political differences, and power struggles.
The roots of this conflict go back to 1953, when the United States supported a coup in Iran that
removed Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh. After this, Iran was ruled by the Shah, who
was supported by the U.S. However, in 1979, the Islamic Revolution took place, and a new
government came into power that strongly opposed the United States. During the same year,
Iranian students captured the U.S. embassy in Tehran and held American diplomats hostage,
which greatly increased tensions.
Another major reason for the conflict is Iran’s nuclear program. The United States and its allies
believe that Iran may be trying to develop nuclear weapons, while Iran says its program is for
peaceful purposes. In 2015, an agreement called the JCPOA (nuclear deal) was made to limit
Iran’s nuclear activities, but the United States withdrew from it in 2018, leading to more

security concerns. It shows how unresolved issues can grow into serious global problems.
Peaceful negotiations and cooperation are the best ways to reduce tension and ensure stability
in the world.
