planing
A good EYL class is carefully planned for
the entire year. We have to think about
what would be more appropiate at various
times of the year. Daily lesson planing is
important as well. It builds confidence and
helps you prepare the class.
Objectives
Objectives are the most important part of the
lesson plan. They state the purpose for the lesson
and what students are expected to learn from the
lesson. Objetives should address content, language
learning and relate to academic skills. They should
be specfic.

Activities provide opportunities for:
active learning.
interaction with the group and teacher.
comprehensible input and output.
ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES
1. Warm-up activities: they help to activate
prior knowledge, create interest, etc.
2. Presentation activities: the focus is on
providing sts with a lot of input and then
teaching language structures and vocabulary
they will need to use in the output.
3. Practice activities: sts need opportunity to
practice using the topic and the new
language provided.
4. Application activities: encourage sts to use
the language in authentic contexts.
