Training method
Good day everyone standing in front of you is Asive Sondishe I will be elaborating on
the training method.
Training methods are the different techniques that helps employees learn new skills
and improve their knowledge, which helps improve efficiency, competitiveness and
consistency.
Training is very essential for organisational growth, as it helps employees to learn
about organisational culture and the environment they are working in.
By employees being familiar or uplifting their skills it helps increase productivity and
efficiency of the organisation. In this way the organisation will be more competitive
meaning they will be able to come up with ideas to grow the organisation/ that can
be unique from other organisations. This may also prevent faults/ mistakes
happening/ upcoming short falls. Training also builds a healthy relationship between
employees since no one will think they are superior to the other if they all receive the
same training and this would make it easy for employees to communicate with each
other.
To show the importance of skills development and training, South Africa has
implemented the SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) whereby the
employer who have a salary bill that exceeds R500 000 per annum should contribute
1% of their annual salary as a levy, where SETA receives 80% of the levy for
organisational expenses and the 20% is paid to the National Skills Fund.
I will be furthermore elaborate on instructor-led classroom method: Instructor-led
training is suitable for situations where direct interaction with an instructor is
beneficial, such as for complex topics, hands on practice, or when collaborative
discussion is needed.
It consists of various techniques but ill mainly focus on:
Presentation: builds employee’s confidence as well as generates new
ideas/unique Ideas. Employees also get to share their knowledge and earn
communication skills and use body posture when presenting which helps to
see their enthusiasm.
Demonstration: Used to show or teach visually mostly using object,
employees or devices which helps trainees to have a clear understanding of
what they are taught or clear vision of what needs to be done by seeing it.
Tutorial: Exchanging knowledge between the trainer and trainee helps build a
healthy working environment and trainees may gain confidence as the trainer
is learning something and interacting with them. This way new ideas can be
generated and direct communication.
Reading: Some people struggle to learn practically they prefer reading instead
which may not only help them remember skills but also picture what they read
and can also gain reading and analysing skills.
Reflection: Checking how well you remember something by testing, it can be
doing what you have been trained to do or writing about it and if you
remember that means there is a possibility of increased productivity and
confidence in employee which may result to competitiveness.
