Essentials of Business Communication Name – Ananya Tripathi PGDM (2023-25), Section – A Q – Think of some kind of cultural issues that you, or your family might have come across. I visited Kerala last year in December, with my family. We were there for a whole week, during which we travelled the whole state. On my last day in Kochi, I wore a black, sleek dress that was till my knees, to the marine drive. When our cruise started sailing, I noticed that natives who were there with their families and little kids were blatantly ogling. My dress was not even inappropriate, because I was there with my parents and younger brother too. Little kids and their mothers staring at me and my dress for quite a while made me realize how closed off south Indians are towards north Indians and people of different regions. Having lived in Delhi my entire life, I have made many south Indian friends who have been a joy to be with and have made it easy for me to blend in with them and their lives and culture. The differences in our way of living and the ways in which we carry ourselves have always been so different, so much so that it can make one feel alienated in places you are unfamiliar with.
