Word Family:
This activity is an offshoot of the lessons that transpired from Monday
to Friday focusing on 2-syllable words with short e vowel sound.
Introduction
Say: Good day! Do you know what day is today? Yes! Today is
Saturday! I know that all of you are excited to learn and play, but let
us review first what you have learned since Monday by singing this
song.

1. Print “Balloon Festival Worksheets” and distribute it
to the learners.
2. The teacher will first read the words inside the
balloons and the learners will follow.
3. The learners will color the balloons with 2-syllable

“Fill Me In” word cards
Print and cut the “Fill Me In” Word Cards.
The learners are divided into 4-5 groups. They will
form a line according to their group number.
One basket/tray/plate per group is placed in front
of each of them.
Each group will be given the same set of cards. The
teacher will jumble the cards on the floor.
The teacher will read a word, then one member from
each group will find that word and will run towards
the basket to put it.
The first group to fill the basket with each word will
be the winner.
Note to the teacher:
“Fill Me In!” word cards are attached at the last
part of this file.

1. “Fix Me” puzzle pieces
1. The teacher will print and cut the “Fix Me” puzzle
pieces.
2. The learners will be divided into groups with 5
members each.
3. Each group will be given a different set of puzzle
pieces.
4. The learners will say the name of the object aloud
after they have solved the puzzle.
5. The first group to say the name of the picture
aloud is the winner.
Wrap-Up
Ask: Can you tell me the words that you have read during our activity?
Do: The teacher will write all the words that have been said on the board
and will read it together with the learners.
Say: Alright! You did great today! See you next Saturday!
