Introduction About Project: In this example, you will read the sensor analog output voltage and when the smoke reaches a certain level, it will make sound a buzzer and a red LED will turn on. When the output voltage is below that level, a green LED will be on. 2.Features: 1. Smoke detectors have auble alarms, visible alarms such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs), or both. 2.They may also have an alarm output to a control unit. 3.Smoke detectors without a built-in alarm come with alarm contacts for output to an external annunciator in the detector base, or to a control uni 3.Requirments: Hardware: 1. Arduino UNO 1 2. Breadboard (generic) 1 3. MQ-2 Smoke detection sensor 1 4. Male/Female Jumper Wires 1 5. 5 mm LED: Red 1 6. 5 mm LED: Green 1 7. Buzzer 1 8. Resistor 221 ohm 1 Software: 1. operating system= window10. 2. ARDUINO IDE. 4.Advantages and Disadvantages: • Advantages: 1. Smoke alarms save lives. 2. Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. 3. If there is a fire in your home, smoke spreads fast and you need smoke alarms to give you time to get out • Disadvantages: 1.Very sensitive, which can lead to false alarms as a product of cooking. 2,Not as responsive to smoldering fires - they are minutes slower than photoelectric sensors in detecting smoke particles from smoldering fires. 3.Use of radioactive material is a concern.. 5.Existing system (feedback): 1. Photoelectric sensors are set off when smoke enters the alarm and deflects a beam of light onto a photocell. 2. For slow, smoky, smoldering fires, photoelectric alarms are far more sensitive and effective than ionization alarms. 1
