ADJECTIVES
An adjective is a word that qualifies (describes) a noun or a pronoun. Examples
are: silly, yellow, some, two, an, the, those, rectangular, Nigerian, British, large,
hot.
ADJECTIVES
Adjectives have three degrees of comparisons, they are: positive, comparative and
superlative.
•
Positive: to describe one thing, e.g. happy
•
Comparative : to compare two things; it is usually followed by ‘than’, e.g. happier than
•
Superlative: to compare three or more things, e.g. happiest

There are eight (8) parts of speech in the English Language. They are:

An adverb is a word that modifies or describes a verb.

Examples of adverbs are: loudly, gently, beautifully, lazily, so,
very, quite, yesterday, today, sadly, humbly, quietly, soundly,
