My Civic Journey

The issue was the lack of research towards cancer and awareness. Since there are people who
have cancer, people need to do research and find an actual cure towards cancer. So Terry Fox
took action and changed Canada. Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and had
to get one of his leg amputated. So as a result, he attempted to run across Canada to raise
money and awareness towards cancer research. Cancer can ruin many people’s lives, dreams,
and many other things that humans are able to do just because of what cancer is capable of
doing.
As an ordinary citizen that lives on this planet, I believe that humans can make anything
happen. Cancer is a type of issue that humans have been encountering and fighting up against.
But as a citizen, I feel like there isn’t enough work put towards cancer research. Till now, if I’m
not wrong, doctors still haven’t found a complete cure for cancer. But if they actually try just a bit
harder, maybe they will get better results than absolutely nothing. Our attitudes while going
against cancer should always be powerful and positive. With positivity and confidence, we can
still have a bright hope for the future of cancer research and the curing of cancer. So instead of
just not totally worrying about this situation, I would totally worry and try to do what it takes to
embrace it no matter what it takes.
An issue like this, everyone should be getting involved. When I’m speaking on behalf of
everyone, I’m talking about the 3 levels of canadian government, civilians, and doctors. Those
basically sum of the only types of people who could make a difference. Citizens can be the most
useful types of people and also the most chaotic types of people. Since citizens can make
actions such as protests and deliver messages to the government. It would most likely be the
federal government who will be receiving these messages. When they receive these messages,
the government’s job is to find ways to resolve issues. Different levels of government take action
to make this task more effective. So for example if the federal government requires the
provincial government to take action, the provincial government would most likely help out for
the greater good for the country. Doctors are the real people who can prove things since doctors
are the ones who are there to help people with cancer. So overall, all these people need to work
together to accomplish a common goal.
The official languages section is important to me no matter what. Canada is a free country and
should never have any restrictions on other languages. Many people are not comfortable with
using english and would want to use their own language or languages. Some people could be
having difficulties speaking, understanding, or reading english and would need to use their own
language to communicate. So it’s amazing how Canada allows people to use their own
languages to interact with other people in places such as courts.
Personally, my first language was mandarin, not english. But now, I can use english very fluently
and be able to communicate however I want or like. But in some cases, english doesn’t go too
well in terms of communication. So at times, I would prefer to use chinese to address some type
of information in a better way. For example if I were to explain the meaning of a word, it could
become a challenge if english is a type of language that isn’t the best choice in terms of
translating this word. But chinese is able to fully identify the word without a problem. So overall,
it’s all about the different types of communication skill types. The whole point of communication
is to communicate and interact with one another. But if that even becomes a problem, the
country is going to become a problem. As citizens, we rely on languages to communicate. We
use multiple languages to communicate. And it could be languages that many types of people
don’t or have trouble understanding. So the right of speaking in many languages is amazing and
eases up communication for many citizens on this land.
To finish things off, I feel like political thinking in your present and future life is very important
since you can understand a lot of things from them. It helps us understand what might be the
causes of some of the problems and solutions on this land. We get to feel the world around us
and how it is holding up with all these things happening. We also get to better comprehend
principles like freedom, equality, individualism, democracy, and justice that have influenced our
politics. It is quite important for every student to take Civics because they are able to look ahead
and back to see what this world is doing. Students would have a better understanding of what
they are up against in the near future and what they were up against before. To promote a better
understanding of the word “Civics”, students would be able to finally understand all the history
and all other events that happened around that word.
