What is the correct context for the speech? Where and when will it be given?

The context for the speech is informational at the workplace for all the employees of the
company. The speech will be conducted during the monthly employee meetings. The
specific topic of my speech is to inform the employees of the current order accuracy
performance during the most recent performance period.
Who is the audience and what are their characteristics?
A2.
The audience is composed of all the employees for my organization. Their characteristics
are wide ranging. Their ages span from 18 years old up until the age of retirement.
Why has the audience come to hear the speech?

The audience has come to the speech for periodical information dispersed by the
company. It is generally required for all employees to attend one employee meeting once
a month.
What are the interests of the audience?

The interests of the audiences are generally to be informed of the companies current
standings and policies as well as current performance.
What does the audience know about your topic?

The audience is given weekly updates on the topic from their direct supervisors.
What is the audience’s point of view on the topic?

The audience’s point of view is that they are the direct contributor to the topic which is
order accuracy performance.
How will the audience likely react to your speech?

The audience will likely be very interested as they have an performance
based incentive that is paid out to them at the end of the year.
Purpose
What do you want your audience to know?

I want my audience to know how well they have performed during that last 4 weeks in
regards to order accuracy. I also want them to know if there are any opportunities they
have in improving this performance metric. I also want them to know their current
standing in earning their incentive for order accuracy.

I want them to think about how they can help improve the company’s current
performance in order accuracy and how they can help to achieve the annual goal.

I wan the audience to feel engaged and motivated.

I want the audience to think about ways they can stay focused on improving order
accuracy.
What is the most important message of your speech?

The most important message of my speech is to inform the audience of the company’s
current standing on order accuracy.
Why should/will your audience care about your message?

They should care because their bonus incentive for order accuracy depends on their
performance.

They are directly aligned because they are directly involved with performance in order

What did you learn from this experience?

I learned that it is important to think about what my audience might think and feel but it is
also important to think about how I want them to think or feel.
