1. Students will view a powerpoint that explains who the Tainos were and about their culture.
2. Students will view some Taino symbols and try to determine what the symbols mean.
3. Students will work with a worksheet of Taino symbols, choosing 5 or more symbols to try to draw on a practice paper.
4. Students will then be given a piece of brown paper and a stencil, which they will trace a rock shape on the brown paper.
5. Students will draw the symbols they practiced on the brown paper.
6. Students will then cut out their rock.
Students will share their work with other students, and while lined up, students can discuss their favorite symbol.
