JOB DESCRIPTION Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold Girls Inc. 441 W Michigan St. Indianapolis, IN, 46202 Position: Director of Affiliate Services Responsible To: Chief Operating Officer Function: To take leadership and responsibility for the provision of support services to Girls Inc. member organizations by planning and coordinating the activities of the Affiliate Services Department, in collaboration with Research & Evaluation and Learning Central, as well as with External Relations. Responsible for implementation of those segments of the Girls Inc. strategic plan that pertain to developing strong affiliates, growth in number of girls served, and seeding new affiliates. 2. Foster an open, positive and mutually supportive relationship between the national organization and its affiliates. Provide direction and influential leadership to network, both affiliates and national organization. 3. Provide supervision to the Regional Directors to accomplish the following: a. Coordinate and administer a system of support services to Girls Incorporated affiliates, focusing on organizational growth and sustainability, through the Girls Inc. business model that supports delivery of the optimal Girls Inc. Experience for girls. b. Oversee ongoing technical assistance to affiliates, including site visits and phone consultations, and as appropriate, engage in direct crisis and/or opportunity intervention. In collaboration with Learning Central, plan for and supervise professional development services for new and senior management staff of affiliates. c. Oversee the election, functions and activities of regional representatives serving as members of the National Board. 4. Support and supervise the Director of LA Expansion to ensure the development of a strong financially healthy affiliate that is organized in alignment with the Girls Inc. program framework and business model. Supervise the Manager of Quality Assurance & Annual Conference to ensure that conference meets the leadership and training needs of member organizations while advancing the strategic plan and priorities of the Girls Inc. network. 6. Monitor, through the Quality Standards process, affiliate compliance with national membership requirements and standards. Establish a system to manage compliance with other membership requirements, including dues, insurance, tax reports and the annual survey. 7. Serve as an active member of the Management Team, demonstrating leadership in our collaborative efforts and enhancing communication across the national organization and between and among Girls Inc. and our affiliates. 8. Develop and help coordinate fund development initiatives to support the delivery of the Girls Inc. Experience through high performing local organizations. 9. Develop and monitor Affiliate Services department operating and project budgets and submit reports as needed. 10. Maintain knowledge of and contact with representatives of other organizations as pertinent; and participate in related conferences and meetings as appropriate. 11. Provide leadership and support to special initiatives as requested. 12. Provide staff support to National Board committees and task groups as requested. 13. Act as a strong advocate and voice for girls and the Girls Incorporated mission. Supervisory Responsibilities: Regional Directors, Manager of Quality Assurance & Annual Conference, and Director of LA Expansion. Other Responsibilities: Primary responsibility to Chief Operating Officer to assist in the work of other departments as an integral part of staff team; to participate in staff meetings and Girls Inc. functions as requested and appropriate. To work collaboratively with other individuals and organizations on appropriate organizational matters. Result-oriented executive, experienced in developing people and collaborative decision making. Masters degree in appropriate area of study preferred or equivalent experience. Experience in Girls Incorporated preferred. Supervisory experience. General knowledge of specialized work with girls/young women and issues related to changing roles of women. Capacity to work cooperatively with and represent diverse, multicultural populations. Flexibility, initiative, creativity. Willingness to travel.
