2) And call me not to mine accounts, how I have lined here:
for they I know right well, O, Lord, how vile I shall appeare.
I neede not to confesse my life, I am surethou canst tell:
What I have ben and what I can, I know thou knowest it well.
3) O, Lord, thou knowest what things be past and eke the things that bee:
Thou knowest also what is to come, nothing is did from thee.
Before the heavens & earth were made, thou knowest what things were then:
As all things else that have bene since, among the sonnes of men.
4) And can the things that I have done, bee hidden from thee then:
Nay, nay thou knowest them all, O, Lord, where they where done and when.
Wherefore with tears I come to thee to beg and to intreate:
Even as the childe that hath done evill, and feareth to bee beate.
5) So come I too thy mercie gate, where mercie doth abound:
Requiring mercie for my sinne, to heale my deadly wound.
O, Lord, I neede not too repeate, what I doe beg or crave:
Thou knowest, O, Lord, before I aske, the thing that I would have.
6) Mercie, good Lord, merci I aske, this is totall summe:
Fot mercie, Lord, is all my fate, had vlet thy mercie come. (Bis)
