Friday, June 9, 4:30 p.m. on campus at Strenger Plaza. More than 750 students are eligible to
graduate with the class of 2006.
This year’s valedictorian is Timea Erzsebet Antal of Foothill Ranch, age 30. Antal is a

left behind in Romania.
This year’s commencement speaker (determined by student vote) is Tara KubickaMiller of Long Beach, associate professor of speech communication and coach of SCC’s
parliamentary debate team since 2004. The team ranked among the top ten community college
competitors in the U.S. in 2006. Kubicka-Miller holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern
Arizona University and a master’s degree from Cal State, Long Beach. A competitive college
speaker herself, this native Californian has lived and taught college classes in the Netherlands.
“I congratulate and am very proud of our graduating class of 2006,” said Santiago
Canyon College President Juan Vázquez. “I am also proud of our outstanding faculty and staff
