





Only for the start of a new chapter: read the summary at the beginning of each chapter
and write 2-3 sentences on what the chapter will be about
Use page numbers (from the book), headings and subheadings
PARAPHRASE – DO NOT COPY FROM THE BOOK
Use bullet points to write notes about the MAIN IDEAS. Don’t take notes on the details
unless they are necessary to understand the main ideas.
Define bolded words or key terms on each page in your own words
At the end of your notes, summarize the reading in a few sentences
