I am a CFP and CPA (nonpracticing) and am overwhelmed with the
complexity of the tax code. I'm surprised anyone can complete their own
return. The variety of retirement plans 401(k), SEP, Simple (haha), IRA
(deductible, non-deductible and ROTH) confuses professionals like
myself, it's a no wonder that people don't participate, they are
totally confused.
Repeal the tax code and replace it with a consumption based tax;
preferably one where the taxpayer can see daily how much they are
sending to Washington.
