Connecting The Giver and The Hunger Games
Directions: A dystopia is a society that is in a controlled state. Both The Giver and The Hunger Games
explore this concept as the members of each society must respond to the abuse of power demonstrated
by the existing form of government. For this assignment, write an essay in which you explain the
method of control used by each form of government (that which exists in The Giver and that which
exists in The Hunger Games). Then, explain how both Katniss and Jonas each symbolize the promise
