Academic Advising
Essay Contest!
Topic for student response:
Write an essay about an academic advising experience you recall
that has had a positive impact on you. Make the experience come
alive, and show the impact clearly, using specific examples and
support.
 Please write a one page, typed response and submit it to Michele Vitale,
Counseling and Advising Center (1-231, Brighton Campus or
mvitale@monroecc.edu) by December 4, 2009.
 Include your name, student ID# (M#), address and telephone number
on your entry.
 A $25 gift certificate for the MCC Bookstore will be awarded to one
student on the basis of freshness and quality of responses. (Thank you
MCC Bookstore for your generous donation!)
 The prize-winning entry will be published in the Tribune.
