DIVING INTO LEARNING I am looking forward to discussing your child’s progress with you this week! TABLE TALK: Conversation starters for the dinner table. For what is Ruby Bridges famous? Tell me about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. George Washington Carver discovered many uses for what plant? Show me how to make $1.00 using quarters. Now do it with dimes. Now see how many nickels are in $1.00. Writing Workshop: This week was spent on grammar. We focused on nouns, verbs and adjectives. Math: We continued to add money using coins and bills. We also practiced telling time. Reading Workshop: We focused on finding nonfiction text features and explaining HOW they help us read an informational book. Social Studies: We discovered the contributions made by Ruby Bridges and Harriet Tubman. We also learned about the life of George Washington Carver.
